Entertainment Books Available from Rotary Members and Sunriver Branch of Bank of the Cascade

Presidential Citation

Sunriver Rotary has earned its first Presidential Citation this year. It is a tribute to the efforts of the members of the club and its members.

Bus for Bays and Girls Club

Sunriver Rotary motivated by Dave Brinduse raised $2000 to purchase a school bus for the Boys and Girls Club of La Pine. The bus was inspecxted by Les Schwab mechanics and painted. Boys and Girls Club of La Pine Director (and Rotary member), Erik Siebert was certified as a driver. The acquisition of the bus allows B & G Club members who have no transportation participate in the program.

Emu Dinners Served at Sunriver Resort Benefit Sunriver Rotary

Sunriver Resort has continued to support Rotary this year by serving Emu dinners in their dining room and donating 1/2 of the proceeds to the club. The cost of the emu meat was underwritten by club members. The dinners are available as long as meat supply lasts.

Sunriver Rotary Members Win First Place for Best Theme at the Suriver Music Festival Faire

Showing that Rotarians can have fun, .club members donned MASH outfits and took refuge in a camoflaged tent courtesy of the National Guard.

Recipients of Funding

Sunriver Rotary approved funding for the following programs for South Deschutes County youth and families:
  • A Grant to the Boys and Girls Club of LaPine
  • A Bus for the Boys and Girls Club of LaPine
  • A Music Scholarship for a South Deschutes through the Sunriver Music Festival
  • A Grant to the Newberry Habitat for Humanity.
  • A scholarship to the American Cancer Society Camp U-KAN-DO for a child cancer victim.
